An independent educational resource
This website is not the official website of any software company, and it is not owned by, operated by or endorsed by any software vendor. We do not use any vendor's branding, logo or visual identity. Product and company names that appear on the site belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe or refer to those products.
We publish guides on CRM, lead management, websites and landing pages, sales funnels, marketing automation, email and text messaging, customer conversations, scheduling, reviews, social media, advertising, payments, courses and memberships, AI, agency operations and integrations. Each guide begins with a business problem, explains why it happens and how it has traditionally been handled, and then describes the modern, connected approach.
Why we exist
Business software is often explained through the marketing pages of the companies that sell it. That is understandable, but it makes it hard for a small business owner to learn what a "pipeline", a "webhook" or a "sub-account" is without also being sold something. We wanted a place where the concepts come first, and where the reader can leave with useful knowledge even if they never click an external link.
How we approach integrated platforms
Many of the problems we describe involve several tools that do not share information. We explain the trade-offs between using specialist tools connected by integrations and using an integrated platform that bundles several functions. We think both approaches can be right, depending on the business.
Where an integrated platform is relevant to a topic, we may mention it and may link to it. If a link is a referral link, this website may earn compensation. We label such links and explain our approach in the affiliate disclosure. Compensation is a conflict of interest, and we do not pretend otherwise; that is why we encourage readers to test any platform against the software evaluation scorecard.
